Sunday
Into Sunday and for more northern and western areas of the British Isles a fair weather day is predicted with some bright or sunny spells and just a few showers across Scotland, Ireland and N England. It will be cloudier across the remainder of England and Wales, with a developing and rather chilly NE'ly breeze and later in the afternoon wet and windy weather will reach the far south-east of England. Highs 7C to 11C.

Sunday Night
Increasingly wet and windy and rather inclement conditions will develop across SE England on Sunday night with some large rainfall totals developing along with a near gale force NE'ly wind as well. It will, however, remain much drier and more settled across parts of N England and particularly Scotland and Ireland where light winds and clear skies will lead to another chilly night here with frost (gardnerers beware!). Lows -1C to 4C in the north and west, around 2C to 6C across England and Wales.

Monday
Into Monday and a very wet and windy start is predicted across much of southern and south-eastern areas of England with large rainfall totals developing and with a continued strong or near gale force NE'ly wind which will lead to poor driving conditions for the morning rush hour period. Wet and windy conditions will prevail across much of England and Wales through the rest of Monday where it will feel cold, but Scotland and Ireland will be much drier and brighter. Highs 8C to 12C across Scotland and Ireland, just 4C to 9C across England and Wales.

Tuesday
Into Tuesday and some residual overnight wet weather may well be present across east and south-east England, this clearing through the day to some temporary drier and brighter conditions. Following from the west though will be yet further rain or showers, initially across W Scotland and Ireland during the afternoon but then spreading eastwards later in the day and overnight. Winds NW'ly moderate, backing SW'ly across most areas later and temperatures still chilly for early May, highs 8C to 13C.
